Business Assistance Grant

Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets offers business assistance for retail businesses (shops, restaurants, services, galleries, and museums) in our service area. If you need ideas for your façade, getting control of your Yelp account, marketing through FaceBook, or setting up events through Eventbrite, this program is for you. The business assistance grant is for consulting time and will be offered until funds are expended by September 2020. Click here for an application.

First Friday

First Friday is a perennial favorite in Dupont Circle, organized over the last 30 years by galleries around the neighborhood.  Ten or so galleries, retailers, embassies, and historic houses stay open late the first Friday of every month to showcase a new artist.  This free gallery walk is a great introduction to fine art, including world class painters and emerging artists.  Marketing First Friday has made a dramatic increase in visitors by using social media.  New faces are coming to galleries for the first time, and it is noticeable. www.FirstFridayDupont.org.

Art All Night
Then on September 14, we organized Art All Night: made in DC, thanks to a grant from the Department of Small & Local Business Development and support from the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities.  This year was the largest Art All Night we’ve organized thus far – with 23 locations.  The number of galleries and art spaces was varied, and we attracted 26,000 visitors to all locations.  www.artallnightdupont.org.
