Holiday Windows Winners!

Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets organized its 10th annual Holiday Windows Competition to foster better retail displays, encouraging festive shopping and dining in Dupont Circle. The winners of this year’s Holiday Windows Competition are Floriana for Best Restaurant; Loft for best Retail; and Dupont Optical for Best Service.

“The holidays are a great time to shine in Dupont Circle,” said Mandy Warfield, Chair of Dupont Circle Main Streets. “By fostering better window displays, it creates a romantic shopping environment for people to walk and discover all the little shops, galleries, services, and eateries along P Street, Connecticut Avenue, 18th Street, and 17thStreet.”

Once again, Floriana has outdone itself with its larger-than-life Christmas tree. This year’s theme is the “British Invasion.” Loft has designed an elegant window to showcase its merchandise fit for the holiday season. And Dupont Optical has won best service window for its hand-made window decorations evocative of retro Christmas ornaments.

The holiday windows competition is a way to encourage retailers in Dupont Circle to prepare for seasonal displays. HDCMS encouraged all retail shops, restaurants, and services to install holiday windows by Small Business Saturday to raise the bar for seasonal design. The Design Committee for HDCMS judged the windows on December 12, 2022. Window displays were judged in three categories: Best Retail Shop, Best Restaurant, and Best Service.
