Freedom to Celebrate

Join us on 17th Street NW for World Pride DC’s official Block Party!
Located along 17th Street in DC’s historic Dupont Circle neighborhood, this annual party honors DC’s “Gayborhood," and features local food, adult beverages, and various activities in celebration of Pride!
This event is made possible through the partnership and collaboration of Dupont Circle Main Streets and the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs.

Taste of Pride is a signature event series from Capital Pride Alliance, celebrating the vibrant intersection of LGBTQ+ culture and the culinary world. This year's program will feature a multi-month collaboration between DC’s Business Improvement Districts (BIDS).
Taste of Pride aims to blend the culinary artistry of our city with the pride and diversity that define our community, paving the way for a fun WorldPride 2025 celebration.

Guided Tours DC
Step back in time and walk through the rich, groundbreaking history of LGBTQ+ life in Washington, D.C.
This guided walking tour will take you through the city's historic gay neighborhoods, iconic bars, and legendary clubs central to the evolution of LGBTQ+ culture and activism.

Whether you're an LGBTQ+ history enthusiast, an ally, or someone curious to learn more, this walking tour will leave you with a deeper appreciation for D.C.'s enduring LGBTQ+ heritage. A portion of proceeds are donated to Rainbow History Project and Capital Pride Alliance.

Stead Park Family Pride:
Over the Rainbow!

There's no place like Dupont. This year, we're off to see the wizard at Stead Park—follow the yellow brick road to Dupont Circle for a dazzling storytime and all the magic of Oz!

Get ready for a day of fun and activities for all ages!

A magical walk under the rainbow, down the yellow brick road, and into Emerald City

A giant inflatable obstacle course on the basketball court

A live mermaid tank—yes, real mermaids!

A community LOVE mural painting project

Lisa Marie Studios's 17th Street Pavement and Planter Murals
Just in time for World Pride, muralist Lisa Marie Thalhammer will debut the Pride pavement mural on 17th Street and a special piece commissioned by Lyle Hotel.
​
Mural work is set to take place May 27th - June 5th.

The NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt in Shevchenko Park
Saturday, May 31 — 10AM-5PM
Sunday, June 1 — 12PM-5PM
The Dupont Circle BID is partnering with the National AIDS Memorial to display 20 panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Made by friends and loved ones, the quilt is a tribute to those lost to AIDS.
The AIDS Memorial Quilt is the largest community arts project in the world. Its first panels were created during the darkest days of the AIDS crisis. Today, the Quilt consists of 50,000 individually-sewn panels with the names of more than 110,000 people who have died of AIDS.

Falsettos: Celebrating World Pride with the Tony-Award Winning Musical at The Keegan Theater
May 10-June 15, 2025
Hilarious, heartbreaking, and utterly unique, Falsettos is a contemporary musical about family, relationships, bar mitzvahs, baseball and AIDS. When Marvin leaves his wife Trina and son Jason to be with his lover Whizzer, tempers flare, problems escalate and everyone learns to grow up.
